‘I hope it’s not a crime’: Teen accused of making child pornography

A 15-year-old boy is facing a murder charge in connection with the distribution of child pornography, authorities said.

The suspect is a student at the High Point High School, where the boy was arrested Thursday on a warrant stemming from the discovery of child porn, a U.S. Attorney’s Office in Florida said.

In addition to the felony charge, the teen faces a charge of unlawful access to a protected computer, U.C.L.A. Assistant District Attorney Kevin Richey said.

“The accused used his computer to obtain child pornography and that child pornography was used to sell child pornography,” Richety said.

He said the boy has been placed on probation for three years.

He could face up to 15 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing.

The teen is not believed to be a member of any school group, Richeyer said.

Authorities say the teen has been in contact with other members of the boy’s high school who allegedly exchanged messages with him about child pornography.

Authorities are not releasing the identity of the boys alleged co-conspirator.

A person who answered the phone at the boys home said the teen was not home and that the person had called to tell him they were out of work.

The boy’s mother called police on Thursday morning and said her son had been arrested.

Authorities said the investigation began when investigators received a tip from a law enforcement agency that there was an investigation of the distribution or possession of child pornographic material.

The tipster told investigators that the teen had been using the alias “Wesley”, according to a criminal complaint.

The police investigation led to the teen’s arrest.

The U.K. Department of Justice is investigating the case.
